James Rafael is a young but well-established yoga teacher in London and working with him on this project was a joy. we needed to create something that unpretentiously stands out – just like his teaching. He teaches dynamic vinyasa yoga, qigong, as well as mindfulness and meditation.
Immersing ourselves into the traditions behind modern day yoga and looking back into ancient scripts, we found inspiration in the I Ching (Yi Jing) and its trigrams.
Working with the epic Sean Tucker on the collection of images that are conveying James’ ethos was a fantastic journey. We produced a series of photo shoots to enrich the visual assets. And Sean and James gave us pure art.
Contextual shots were as important.
James being a teacher always focuses on students. It was essential to capture the magic happening in the yoga studio, with his students, practising together.
