For their first joint feature at Dutch Design Week 2018, Beyond material (BM) asked BVK to produce their printed collateral in order to unify the different projects and groups within the collective under one banner. This marked a beginning of a collaboration between BVK and Beyond material that will extend into future projects of greater magnitude and complexity.

This particular project involved producing a micro-identity of sorts that communicates BM’s various approaches to material design as well as their philosophy. We opted to create a simple grid system with imperfections and interventions in order to display different disciplines the members of the collective practice. These disciplines involve weaving, pottery, 3D printing, sewing and even sand blasting.
